Kavuqo Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 14, 2026
Kavuqo is designed as a local-first personal-finance app. The developer does not operate a Kavuqo transaction backend, analytics service, advertising system, or user-account service.
Information stored by Kavuqo
Transactions, categories, amounts, currencies, dates, descriptions, and ordinary app preferences are stored locally on the user's iPhone using Apple system frameworks.
The Free-plan Smart Entry allowance state is also local. Kavuqo stores a minimal quota record in the iOS Keychain. It may contain the first-use time anchor, current allowance-period index, usage count, latest trusted-time value, and limited verified App Store acquisition information. It does not contain transaction amounts, descriptions, speech transcripts, raw audio, payment-card details, or financial history.
Kavuqo does not upload financial records or the quota record to a developer-operated server.
Free allowance time verification
Kavuqo uses personal monthly Free Smart Entry periods beginning from first use of the app. The phone's local clock is not trusted to grant a new Free allowance by itself.
On ordinary launches before the next allowance boundary appears due, Kavuqo does not make a quota-related network request. Only when the device clock indicates that the next personal monthly boundary may have arrived does Kavuqo query Apple's own network time service.
Kavuqo uses Apple's documented NTP hosts time-ios.apple.com and time.apple.com on UDP port 123. The request is a standard NTP client datagram and contains no transaction data, amounts, descriptions, Smart Entry text, quota state, StoreKit IDs, support email, account identifier, or other Kavuqo user content.
Kavuqo validates the NTP response and uses the Apple-provided server timestamp only to determine whether a new Free allowance period has actually begun. If Apple time verification cannot be completed, Kavuqo does not grant a new Free Smart Entry allowance from the device clock alone. Manual transaction entry remains available offline without restriction.
Kavuqo does not use Akamai, TimeAPI.io, a developer-operated time server, or another third-party time provider for this check.
Voice entry and speech recognition
Voice entry is optional. When the user chooses it, Kavuqo uses Apple's Speech framework and requests microphone and speech-recognition permission.
Kavuqo requests on-device speech recognition when Apple reports that it is supported for the selected recognizer and language. If on-device recognition is not available, audio may be sent to Apple's Speech service for transcription after the user has granted Apple's speech-recognition permission.
Kavuqo does not operate a speech-recognition backend and does not receive, store, or retain raw microphone audio on a developer-operated server. Recognized text returned through Apple's Speech framework is used inside Kavuqo to prepare the user's editable transaction draft. Raw microphone audio is not persisted by Kavuqo.
Typed Smart Entry can be used without microphone or speech-recognition permission while the user's Free allowance remains or without a Smart Entry limit with Premium. Manual entry always remains available without microphone or speech-recognition permission.
Apple Intelligence and Foundation Models
On supported devices, Kavuqo may use Apple's on-device Foundation Models to improve transaction understanding. This feature is optional and depends on Apple Intelligence availability on the device.
Kavuqo does not send Foundation Models prompts or model results to a developer-operated AI service.
Kavuqo Premium and App Store purchases
Kavuqo Premium is offered through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes subscription purchases and billing under the user's Apple Account and Apple's terms.
Kavuqo checks verified StoreKit entitlement information so it can unlock Premium features. Kavuqo does not receive or store the user's payment-card or bank-account details and does not send StoreKit entitlement information to a developer-operated server.
Kavuqo may also read verified App Store acquisition information supplied by StoreKit as an auxiliary anti-reinstall signal for the Free allowance. Kavuqo does not silently invoke an App Store refresh that could require authentication solely for quota checking.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Kavuqo does not include third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or behavioral profiling. The optional Premium card shown inside the Free version is first-party Kavuqo UI and is not supplied by an advertising network.
Apple services and data collection
Kavuqo does not collect data from the app through a developer-operated backend or third-party runtime service. Financial records, ordinary preferences, and Free allowance state remain on the device.
Apple system services used by Kavuqo, including the App Store/StoreKit, Speech where applicable, and Apple's network time service, may process network or account information according to Apple's own privacy terms. Kavuqo does not receive or retain Apple's service-side data.
Support communications
If you contact Kavuqo Support by email, the email address and information you choose to include are processed by the email provider for the purpose of responding to your request. Support email is separate from the Kavuqo app itself; the app does not automatically send transaction data or other financial records to support.
Please do not send bank details, card numbers, account numbers, passwords, private financial records, transaction exports, or other sensitive credentials in support messages.
Deleting data
Users can delete individual transactions inside Kavuqo. Removing the app from the iPhone removes Kavuqo's transaction database and ordinary app-container preferences, subject to normal iOS device backup behavior controlled by the user and Apple.
A small non-financial Free-plan quota record may remain in the iOS Keychain after ordinary app removal as best-effort abuse prevention. It contains only allowance/timing/acquisition metadata described above, not financial history.
An App Store subscription is associated with the user's Apple Account rather than only with local Kavuqo app data. Subscription management and cancellation are handled through Apple.
Changes to this policy
If Kavuqo later adds cloud sync, accounts, analytics, non-Apple external services, or other data-handling behavior, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that behavior ships.
